With solid and diversified musical backgrounds, the four from Chair Chant Corps (double meaning
with “cherche encore”) deliver a feverish and inspired rock music ranging from satin-like ballads to
explosive, raging guitar parts. Simon’s voice whispers, caresses, screams and rises, with poetic and
clear-minded lyrics. Influences may include Jeff Buckley, Muse, Nirvana, Noir Désir, Jacques Brel…
Founded in 2002 by singer Simon Caporossi and guitarist Michaël Coracin, the project simmered for
two years before becoming a real stage band, with the arrival of drummer Eric Alaux and bass
player Julien Bourrette. Ever since they’ve been touring and working at improving their set, building
themselves a strong reputation as stage performers everywhere they set foot.
Dark yet never pessimistic, their first album “Nous Rirons” (“We’ll laugh”), published in September
2005, unveils the peculiar universe of Chair Chant Corps, inhabited by fleeing shadows and thrilling
sunrays, sailing on the seas of melancholy…
2006 sees the band opening for French stars like Thiéfaine and La Grande Sophie; After creating a
real stage show and touring across France and
Switzerland, Chair Chant Corps recorded their first live DVD, to be published in November 2007.
